Wednesday, October 30, 1921Death of W. A. WHITLOW
W. A. Whitlow, aged 69 years, died on Tuesday afternoon at his home in Winterset. He suffered a stroke of paralysis in June, which has since incapacitated him. Friends called at the home shortly before his death. When they left he seemed as well as usual, but within a few moments his heart failed to function and death came. Mr. Whitlow had lived here from boyhood. Being a skilled carpenter, he had a wide acquaintance in this community.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at the home at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Geo. D. Rogers.

Pagw 2William A. Whitlow, son of William and Eliza Whitlow, was born in Russellville, Ky., Nov. 4, 1853 and died at his home in Winterset, Nov. 1, 1921, lacking just three days of being 68 years of age. When just a child he moved with his parents to Illinois, where he lived until he became a young man, when he came to Iowa, where he resided until his death.
In the year 1875, he was united in marriage to Drucilla Kale and to this union were born five children: Marion of Winterset; Myrtle, now deceased, Millard, who died in childhood and Mrs. Chas. Phillips and Mrs. Frank Davis, both of Des Moines.
He was among the early settlers, and being of a very honest and ambitious disposition, he was well liked in the town he had helped build up.
Besides the widow and children, he leaves 10 grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held from the home Thursday at two o’clock, Rev. George D. Rogers officiating.
