Leslie Embery Bush, 85, of Winterset died of a heart ailment May 31, 2001 at his home.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with the Rev. Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Leslie Bush was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Madison County to Robert Franklin and Nora Myrtle (Cramlet) Bush. He married Ruth Pearl Libby on Jan. 15, 1938, in Macon, Mo. A retired farmer and blacksmith, Leslie had spent most of his life in Winterset and Madison County. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, several blacksmith organizations and was a volunteer at the Madison County Elderly Services.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a grandson, a stepgrandson, a stepgreat-grandson, two brothers and several half brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Pearl, of Winterset; a son, Leslie Dale Bush (wife Ruth) of Jefferson; three daughters, Beverly Lousignont (husband Roy) of Earlham, Evelyn Hamilton (husband Lewis) of Davis City and Margaret Harrison of Creston; a brother, Eugene Bush of Macon, Mo.; a sister Fern Monahan of Granger; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice.
