Shirley Ann Burk, Lorimor

Shirley Ann Burk, 63, of Lorimor died of heart failure March 24, 2002 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday March 28, at the Macksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neil Platon officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset where the family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be at Moon Cemetery, Grand River Township, Madison County.

Shirley Burk was born Jan. 23, 1939, to Rollin "Buck" and Merna (Bolger) Rowe of Macksburg. A 1957 graduate of Macksburg High School, she married Larry Lee Burk on Nov. 2, 1963 in Omaha, Neb. A resident of Lorimor since 2001, Shirley had previously resided in Des Moines where she had been employed for 27 years with Guardsman Life Insurance Company as a secretary, retiring in 1999. She also had worked part time with Wal-Mart for seven and one-half years.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, of Lorimor; a daughter, Christina Cannon (husband Dave) of New Virginia; a son, Marty Taylor (wife Christina) of Des Moines; her mother, Merna Rowe of Lorimor; a brother, Bruce Rowe (Wife Frieda) of Glendale, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Macksburg United Methodist Church.
