Wednesday, February 11, 1953CHARLES BURGER DIES AT VETERANS HOSPITAL
Charles A. Burger, member of a well known Jefferson township family, died Sunday Feb. 1, at the Veteran's hospital in Knoxville from a heart attack.
Mr. Burger was born in Jefferson township Feb. 26, 1888, a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Burger. He attended the Van Meter schools and served in the U.S. army during World War I.
After returning home from service his health failed and he had been a patient at the Knoxville hospital for many years.
He is survived by four brothers and a sister, Arthur Burger of Cedar Falls, Roy Burger of Winterset, Clarence and Albert Burger ofVan Meter, and Mrs. Beatrice Trindle of Moline, Ill.
Funeral services were held from the Van Meter U.B. church.
