THOMAS C. YOUNG, St. Charles

Thomas C. Young, an old veteran, well known in this county, died of paralysis at his home in this city on Wednesday afternoon; having served as a member of Co. F., 39th Iowa.

His remains were put in charge of John Miller post and laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery in accordance with the ritual of the G.A.R., and in the presence of a very larage assemblage. The funeral discourse was by Rev. Hancox, in the M. E. church.

Among the relatives of the deceased in attendance were his two brothers, Rev. C. H. and J. J. Young, his sisters, Mrs. Muster and Mrs. Bartrug, and several of their children and Mr. and Mrs. John W. Mann and their two sons, of Des Moines.

His age was seventy-nine years and eleven months, and he has been feeble for years.
