1961DR. AUGUST BURGER DIES AT ROCHESTER
Dr. August Burger, a native of Winterset, died this Monday Dec. 18, at a hospital in Rochester, Minn. He had been at Rochester for two weeks under observation and treatment. He was 59 years of age.
Doctor Burger was a son of Mr. and Mrs. August Burger of Winterset. He spent his early life in this community and graduated from the Winterset high school. He attended Iowa State university in Ames where he graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine.
Since his graduation he had made his home and practiced his profession at Alta, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mabel Williams of Winterset; a son, Dr. August Burger, Jr., who was associated with his father at Alta; a daughter, Jean of Storm Lake; and two brothers, Louis Burger of Ames and George Burger of California.
Funeral services were pending Tuesday.
