J. Sheldon Burgan, Boone

Services for J. Sheldon Burgan, 83, a resident at Ledges Manor, Boone, who died Feb. 27 of a stroke at the Boone County Hospital, were held Thursday, March 1 at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Graveside services followed at East Union Cemetery.

Born at Barney, he had lived at Boone since 1962. He had owned a farm at one time and had been in farming most of his life. He had also lived in Madrid since 1941.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; daughters, Eleanor Michael of Elkhart and Mary Alice Lane of Des Moines; brothers, Ralph of Winterset and John of El Monte, Calif.; sisters, Naomi Delmege of Lorimor, Kate Baker of Mineral Wells, Tex., and Mary Rachel Byrun of Anderson Ind.; and three grandchildren.
