Ruth Bruett, Winterset

Ruth Bruett, 83, of Winterset, died of cancer April 19, 1995 at her daughter's residence in Newton. Funeral services were April 22 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. The Rev. Don Frank officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset cemetery.

She was born in Adair County on Oct. 7, 1911 to Harrison Franklin and Sadie Vivian (Reynolds) Fox. She married Walter Bruett on March 19, 1932 at Maryville, Mo. She was a homemaker and had lived in Madison County most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; two sisters; and one grandson.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Merle F. Bruett and wife Myrna (Susie) of Kingsport, Tenn., and Curtis C. Bruett and wife Julia of Ames; four daughters, Darlene Durand and husband George of Newton, Louise Alexander and husband Donald of Westminster, Colo., Joan Kuhlman and husband Lester of Sterling, Colo., and Leona Huffman and husband Clifford of Eugene, Ore.; one sister Florence Gilbert of Greenfield; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Methodist Church or Jasper County Hospice.
