Esther M. Brown, Patterson

Esther Mae Brown, 77, of Patterson, died of a heart attack at the Des Moines General Hospital on Nov. 30, 1997. Funeral services were today at the Patterson United Methodist Church with the Rev. R. D. Streeter officiating the 11 a.m. service. Burial followed at the Union Chapel Cemetery in Madison County.

She was born in Booneville, to James and Ruth (Chamberlain) Douglas, on July 8, 1920. On Dec. 5, 1938, she married Eugene P. Brown in Winterset. She was a retired silk screen printer and worked at Baker's Specialty Company for 20 years. She was a lifetime resident of the Winterset and Patterson areas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Surviving relatives include four sons, Kenneth Brown and wife Penny of Winterset, Jim Brown and wife Christy of Patterson, Robert Brown and wife Diana of Patterson, Ron Brown of Patterson; two brothers, Robert Douglas of Grand Prairie, Texas, Raymond Douglas of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
