Death of Will A. Brooker

Will A. Brooker of Linden, for many years a resident of Madison county, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, about noon, Tuesday, June 18th. Mr. Brooker was hit by a baseball, on the left side, under the eleventh rib, Sunday evening when he was playing ball in the yard of his home with some of the members of his family. He was taken to the hospital in Des Moines and was operated upon early Monday morning. His spleen was removed and the loss of blood weakened his condition and caused his death on Tuesday.

Mr. Brooker, who was 53 years of age, had always made his home in this county, until two years ago, when he moved to Redding and then later he moved to his latest home, two miles east of Linden. He was married to Miss Blanche Long in 1903, and they are the parents of six children, who with the mother survive him; Russell, Iola, Helen, Norma, Homer and Ruth. He also leaves a brother and four sisters: Mrs. Ira Trindle of Winterset; Mrs. Henry Imes of St. Charles; Mrs. Clara Petty of Valley Junction, Mrs. Ida Coe of Colorado, and Ernest Brooker of Des Moines.

Funeral services are being held at the Fairview church north of Winterset, this afternoon (Thursday, June 20th) at two o'clock.
