Death Friday Of Brooker

Norwood F. Brooker, 67, died Friday, Jan. 27, 1978 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was a resident at 315 S. 4th Street in Winterset.

The son of Nelson and Blanche Addy Brooker, Mr. Brooker was born February 12, 1910 in Madison county. He was married to Ethel Bertine McCleary here on February 1, 1928.

A lifetime county resident, Mr. Brooker farmed, worked at Solar Aircraft in Des Moines and operated a cafe in St. Charles until his retirement in 1972. He was affiliated with the Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife, Bertine; a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Bonnie) Oberender of Indianola; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; four brothers, Judson Brooker of Winterset, Wilbur Brooker of Boone, Iowa, Herbert Brooker of Indianola, Ralph Brooker of Des Moines and three sisters, Rose Van Buren of Van Meter, Darlene Fundinger of Grand Junction, Colo. and Madeline Bennett of Des Moines.

Funeral services for Norwood Brooker were conducted Monday, Jan. 30, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Byron Ayers officiating.

Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
