Herbert Brooker, Indianola

Herbert "Red" Brooker, 87, died January 31, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City from complications of pneumonia. Herbert was born in Madison County to Nelson and Blanche Addy Brooker. He served in the U.S. Army in Burma and Indo China in WW II.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; his former wife, Lorainne; six brothers, infant Roy Judson, Wilbur, Norwood, Bruce and Ralph; and three sisters, Beatrice Reiman, Amanda Kirby and Rose Van Buren.

He is survived by two sisters: Darlene Fundinger of Grand Junction, Colo.; and Madeline Bennett of Des Moines. Also numberous nieces and nephews and three step daughters. A private burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
