November 16, 1902 - October 18, 1979Charles M. Soderberg, the son of Frank and Rose Kozick, was born November 16, 1902 in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away October 18, 1979 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He had been in failing health for several months.
At the age of 3 1/2 Charles became the adopted son of the John Soderbergs of Casey, Iowa.
On May 16, 1923 "Charlie" was united in marriage to Golda Floyd in Casey, Iowa. They spent their early years together farming near Canby, Iowa. Two daughters, Beverly and Bonnie, blessed this union. In 1927 the family moved to Earlham where Charlie operated a feed and milling business. In 1958 he retired.
Charlie was a member of the Earlham Methodist Church. He was also an active member of Madison Lodge #568 A.F. & A.M. and was a 53-year Mason. He was a member of the Des Moines Scottish Rite Bodies, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include his two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Reinert, of Earlham, and Mrs. Bonnie McFarlin, of Davenport, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Golda, on December 14, 1974, and his parents.
Burial was at Dalmanutha Cemetery, Guthrie County, Iowa with Masonic Graveside Services by Madison Lodge #568 A.F. & A.M.
