1964ROBERT BRITTAIN DIED THURSDAY
Life-Long Madison County Resident Was 88 Years of Age
Robert Brittain, member of a well-known Madison county family died last Thursday, April 30, in Winterset, after a brief illness. He was 88 years of age.
Mr. Brittain was a life-long resident of this county. He was born here Feb. 14, 1876, a son of Alfred and Julia Brittain. He was married May 10, 1910 to Joanna McKinsey. All of their married life was spent on a farm in this county.
He leaves six children, Mrs. Charlotte Ladd and Mrs. Louise Leming of Des Moines, Ward Brittain of Kamrar, Bill Brittain of Waukee, Phillip Brittain of Longmont, Colo., and Donald Brittain of Des Moines. He also leaves 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the First Methodist church in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. W.A. Samp of Winterset.
