HAZEL CASE, Newton

Hazel Case, 92, of Newton died April 11, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Graveside services were held Friday, April 14, at Winterset Cemetery.

Hazel Case was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Winterset to David and Mertie (Rehard) Egy and was a graduate of Winterset High School. On March 11, 1935, she married Lowell “Casey” Case at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Hazel worked in the Maytag Paint Room for over 30 years, retiring in 1973. She attended the First Christian Church and was a past member of UAW Local 997 and a charter member of the Rock Creek Ikettes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and seven brothers.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Maxine Egy of Winterset, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Jasper County or Rock Creek Ikettes.

Arrangements were handled by Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton.
