Joy Louise Bricker, 72, died of heart failure July 17, 2002, at Winterset Care Center South.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 20, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with Pastor Arno Milz officiating. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date.
Joy Bricker ws born July 28, 1929, in Madison County (Madison township) to Harry Ward and Helen Frances (Kaufman) Bennett. She was a 1946 graduate of Winterset High School. On Aug. 8, 1946, she married Melvin Bricker in Des Moines. Joy, a life-long resident of Madison County, farmed with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister and two granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin, of Earlham; four daughters, Barbara Lorimor and Twyla Niska, both of Des Moines, Marilyn Brown of Patterson and Trudy Bricker of Earlham; four sisters, Constance Storms of Ankeny, Leona Henry of Ponca City, Okla., and Phyllis Carter and Beverly Barry, both of Des Moines; six brothers, George Bennett of Alto Loma, Calif., Vernon Bennett, Raymond Bennett and Kenneth Bennett, all of Des Moines, Richard Bennett of Winterset and Dale Bennett of Mesa, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
