Retired Farmer and Livestock Buyer Here Was 83 Years of Age
Walter H. Breeding, a well known resident of the St. Charles community all his life, died Friday, Feb. 10, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 83 years of age.
Mr. Breeding was a retired farmer and livestock buyer. He was born at St. Charles Dec. 25, 1883, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Breeding. He was married Oct. 22, 1907 to Grace Carmen, who survives him.
Mr. Breeding was a member of the St. Charles Methodist church, Masonic lodge and Eastern Star. Formerly he was a member of the St. Charles school board, and director of the Madison county Farm Mutual Insurance company.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Carmen Breeding of Altoona and J. Earnest Breeding of Norwalk; a daughter, Mrs. Susie Kathryn Martin of St. Charles; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, R. A. Breeding of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. James Louk. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
