Earlham Man Dies From Fall

Richard Reynolds, 28 of Earlham died on Saturday October 6 while undergoing surgery at Mercy Hospital for injuries he suffered in a fall Friday, Saturday, September 28 at Monarch Cement Company in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9 at the Earlham Church of Christ with Pastor Bernard Zystra and Pastor Wayne Douglas officiating.

Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reynolds of Earlham, he was born on September 12, 1951 in Des Moines and was a graduate of Earlham High School.

Among the survivors are his wife, Patricia, two daughters, Wesley and Rachel and his parents.

Services Held For Richard Reynolds

Funeral services for Richard (Rick) Reynolds, 28, of Earlham were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, at the United Church of Christ in Earlham, of which he was a member, with burial at the Earlham Cemetery.

Mr. Reynolds died Saturday, October 6, of injuries suffered in a fall on Friday September 28, at Monarch Cement Company in Des Moines where he had worked for the past two years.

Born on September 12, 1951 in Des Moines, he was the son of Robert and Betty Douglas Reynolds. A 1989 graduate of Earlham High School, he was married to Patricia Nevitt on June 23, 1971at the United Methodist Church in Dexter.

He is survived by his wife Pat, two children, Weslan and Rachel; his parents, a sister, Mrs Sharon Capps, of De Soto; parental grandmother, Mrs. Helen Walters of Earlham.

Preceding him in death parental and maternal grandfathers.

Richard Reynolds, the son of Robert and Betty Bingaman Reynolds, was born September 12, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away October 6, 1979 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient for a week following an accident at work.

"Rick" grew up in the Earlham community and graduated from Earlham High School in 1969.

As a teenager, Rick became a member of the Earlham Church of Christ.

On June 23, 1971 he was united in marriage to Patricia Nevitt at the United Methodist Church in Dexter. Two children blessed this union, Westen and Rachel. Rick and Pat made their home on an acreage just outside of Earlham. For the past two years Rick was employed at the Monarch Cement Company in Des Moines.

Rick is survived by his loving wife Pat and their children, Wes and Rachel. Also surviving are his beloved parents, Bob and Betty Reynolds of Earlham; his sister, Mrs. Sharon Capps of DeSoto; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Helen Watters of Earlham; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Zola Bingaman of Earlham, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his paternal and maternal grandfathers.

Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.

Note Correction: Richard was the son of Robert and Betty (Douglas) Reynolds.
