The wife of William T. Rawlings died April 22nd, aged 23 years 5 months and 12 days, after suffering severely for sixteen days. They were married at Macksburg at the residence of Mary R. Carey, March 11, 1883. Her former name was Rhody C. Carey, daughter of Marion G. and Mary R. Carey of Union County. She became a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in 1878.

She has gone to that rest that remains for the righteous. She died, leaving a husband, mother, 2 sisters and a brother to mourn for her.
