Funeral services for Walter L. Brayman, 88, were held Fri., June 12 at Winterset First United Methodist Church. Mr. Brayman died June 9 of a heart ailment at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 29, 1903 at Van Meter to George and Mary Brayman and moved to Winterset from Des Moines 24 years ago. He retired as an insurance rater for the Iowa Inspection Bureau and was a member of Winterset United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of Home Masonic Lodge in Des Moines and was a member of Chapter #180 O.E.S. at Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorthea; three sisters ; and two sons.
Surviving are his wife, Donna; a son, Walter M. Brayman of Des Moines; a step-daughter, Mary Ann Rush of Fairfax, Va.; two stepsons, William D. Stookey and Daniel J. Stookey, both of Des Moines; a brother, John Brayman of Omaha, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.
