Ivan Nicholl, Winterset

Ivan Merle Nicholl, 73, of Winterset died July 1, 2005 at his home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 5, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset with Pastor Steve Koch officiating. Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Ivan Nicholl was born May 28, 1932, to Don Merle and Opal Gertrude (Lamb) Nicholl of Wick. He was a graduate of Martensdale High School. On June 24, 1951, he married Shirley Jo Strawn. Following her death in 1983, he later married Colleen (Wedemeyer) Kellogg on July 19, 1984 in Winterset. As the owner of Ivan's Golf Carts, he had been a golf cart broker and salesman. He had resided in several states besides Iowa before permanently moving to Winterset in 1996. Ivan was a member of the Winterset Lions Club, Lakeview Country Club, Three Coin League and St. Paul Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen of Winterset; three sons, David Nicholl and Jeff Nicholl, both of Winterset, and Robert Kellogg of Iowa of Iowa City; six daughters, Debby (Nicholl) Black of Martensdale and Stacey (Nicholl) Dorman of Independence, Mo., Diane (Kellogg) McDonald of Peru, Cindy (Kellogg) Bush and Barbara Kellogg, both of Winterset, and Amy (Kellogg) McPherson of Conway, Ark.; a sister, Mildred Reed of Des Moines; and 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak park Chapel in Winterset.
