Vergie Love, Winterset

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 16, at First United Methodist Church for Vergie E. Love, who died Friday, Nov. 13, at Bethesda Care Center in Winterset. She was 77 years old.

Born Jan. 22, 1904, in Cambridge, Ia., she was the daughter of Robert and Nellie Williams Bonham.

On March 26, 1926, she married Clarence M. Love in Des Moines. Mr. Love died in 1976.

Mrs. Love was a resident of this area most of her life. She was a social worker for the county welfare office for many years before retiring in 1969.

She also taught school in Macksburg and was active in a number of clubs, including the Wesley Service Guild (now Susanna Guild), Child Welfare Club, Music Club, Iris Garden Club and the Hawthorne Rebekah Lodge of Macksburg. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and a daughter, Barbara.

Survivors include a son, Robert Love of Seattle, Wash.; and two brothers, Aubrey Bonham of Capitola, Calif., and Robert Bonham of Laguna Niguel, Calif.

Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
