Services for Stephen Fitzhugh Bond, 77, Peru, who died March 25 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, were held Friday, March 28 at the Peru Methodist Church with the Rev. Strickler officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.
Born in Winterset Feb. 27, 1909, he was the son of Horace and Addie M. Fitzhugh Bond. He was a retired engineer and was with the Natural Gas Pipeline Company for 25 years. He lived in Madison county most of his life, belonged to the Methodist church and was a member of the Evening Star Masonic Lodge No. 43, and Eastern Star of Winterset.
On Dec. 26, 1930 he was married to Eva Macumber at Adel.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Viola Oglesbee of Mt. Etna, Iowa and Beulah Dillinger of Peru; a sister, Mary Young of St. Charles; six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
