Robert Bond Services Held

Funeral services for Robert H. Bond of Olympia, Washington were held Monday, June 11, at the Chamberlain-Fisher Funeral Home, Adel. Rev. Loren Ditty officiated. Burial was made at the Earlham Cemetery.

Mr. Bond died at the age of 76 at the home of his son in rural Adel.

Born on May 29, 1903, in Madison County, he was the son of Horace M. and Addie Bond. In 1938 he moved to Olympia, Washington. Mr. Bond served three and a half years in the Sea Bees during World War II and was an active member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served as commander of the VFW for 30 years.

In 1975 he retired as industrial inspector for the State of Washington, a position he held for 40 years.

Mr. Bond was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Frank and sister Ruth.

Survivors include his son, Duane of Adel, brother Stephen of Peru, Iowa, two sisters, Grace Lieben of Garden Grove, Calif., and Mary Young of St. Charles; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
