Arnetha "Pat" Bock, St. Charles

Arnetha "Pat" Bock, 82 of St. Charles died Aug. 11, 2000 of heart failure at her home.

A funeral mass was held Wednesday Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, where the family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A Rosary was recited Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Burial was in St. Marys' Cemetery.

Pat was born Feb. 17, 1918, in St. Charles to Harry and Kathryn (Luke) Houston. She married Richard Bock who preceded her in death. Pat was employed for many years as restaurant manager and hostess at the Hotel Sheraton in Chicago and at Younkers in Des Moines. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was active in the Legion of Mary and Altar Society. She was also a member of the St. Charles City Council and a volunteer for the St. Charles Historical Preservation Committee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include five nieces and nephews, Shirley (Griffith) Cunningham of Winterset; Phil Griffith of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Linda (Griffith) Smith of Winterset; Marsha Houston of Seattle, Wash.; Brad Houston of Littleton, Colo.; six great nieces and nephews and a great-great-niece and nephew.

Memorials may be directed to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or St. Charles Historical Preservation Committee.
