Heart Attack is Fatal to Winterset Resident at 68 Years
Mrs. Ethel Means Blessing, who had resided in Winterset the last few years, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines Sunday July 18, a few hours after she became critically ill with a heart attack at her home here. Mrs. Blessing was 68 years of age.
The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Foster Means, and was born in the Kasson neighborhood in the southwest part of Madison county, May 18, 1880. She was raised in this neighborhood and was graduated from the Macksburg high school. Following this she lived for many years in Washington and other western states and returned here two years ago to make her home.
Mrs. Blessing is survived by a son, Foster, E. Stoner of Oklahoma and two daughters, Lucille E. Stoner and Mrs. Neil Boehmer of Everett, Wash. and two grandsons, John and James E. Beal, also of Everett, Wash. She also leaves two brothers, Ivan Means of Lorimor and Andrew Means of Lincoln, Nebr., and a sister Mrs. Luella Heizer of Essex. She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews of this community.
Her funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon, July 21 at 2:30 o'clock at the Fellowship church south of Winterset and burial was made in the nearby Hamblin cemetery.
