Ida Magdalena Jobst
March 13, 1899 - July 31, 1989

Ida Magdalena Jobst, the daughter of Paul and Christina Clausen, was born March 13, 1899 in Penn Township, Madison County, Iowa. She passed away July 31, 1989 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 90.

Ida lost her mother at the age of eight but was blessed with a loving stepmother, Lucy Clausen. She went to school at Penn Township #3 and Dexter High School. Ida was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church and was a lifelong member, a member of Ladies Aid and active in Zion Fellowship Club in earlier years. She taught Sunday School and Confirmation Classes.

Ida married Bert Jobst at Charlotte, Iowa on August 6, 1919 and to this union were born two sons and one daughter: Harold, Marvin and Lucille. Ida and Bert were privileged to observe 60 years together, Bert having passed away in May of 1980. She was a resident at Bethesda Care Center in Winterset since January 15, 1987.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters (two in infancy), one brother, her stepmother and a daughter-in-law.

She is survived by her two sons, Harold and wife Maxine and Marvin and wife Martha of Dexter; her daughter Lucille and husband Dale Boyle of Earlham; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; three half-sisters, Christine Struck of Dexter, Anna Clausen of Des Moines and Margaret Aulick of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery.
