Homer Blauer, 87, of Macksburg, died of complications associated with cirrhosis of the liver Dec. 30, 1999, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 3, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with Pastor Neil Platon officiating. Burial was at Panther Creek Cemetery near Adel.
Homer Blauer was born Aug. 12, 1912, to William and Matilda Jane (Todd) Blauer of Tingley. He married Florence Stapes in 1940. He was a mechanic for many years, working as an airplane mechanic in California and for Hunter Motor in Earlham. He also was a rock truck driver for Cooper Truck Lines in Winterset and Vic Edwards in Macksburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Wava Chance (husband Leonard) of Indianola and Bonita Presley (husband Bob) of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Fern Waugh of Stewartville, Minn.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to a fund which has been established in his name.
