Martha E. Koboldt
May 31, 1890 - July 18, 1978

Martha Elizabeth Koboldt, the oldest of nine children of A. H. and Clara Davis Allen, was born May 31, 1890 in Dallas County, Iowa and passed away at the Earlham Manor Care Center on July 18, 1978.

On February 19, 1911 she married Harry F. Koboldt at their home in Dallas County. They were the parents of seven children: Wayne and Earl Koboldt of Earlham, Mrs. Myra Spencer and Mrs. Amy Leggett, both of Earlham, Mrs. Mae Martens of Winterset, Mrs. Nina Davis of Oskaloosa, and Pearl who passed away at the age of three.

The family moved to a farm in Madison County in December of 1929, and retired in Earlham in December of 1943. Martha was a resident at the Earlham Manor for the past two and a half years.

Mrs. Koboldt is survived by her six children, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving her are two brothers: Ward Allen of Jamaica, and Wayne Allen of Stuart; four sisters: Mrs. Nina Fagen of Perry; Mrs. Nola Habenicht of Casper, Wyoming; Mrs. Beulah Pohl of Farnhamville; and Mrs. Mary Free of Coon Rapids. She was also preceded in death by her husband Harry in June of 1975, her parents, and two brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Koboldt were held at the Earlham Friends church, Friday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Eldon Cole officiated. The casket bearers were Commander Larry B. Spencer, Lee Spencer, Kenneth Koboldt, Bruce Koboldt, Major G. R. Tomlinson and Douglas Tomlinson, grandsons of the deceased. Interment was in the Penn Center cemetery.
