Death Occurred Thursday at Memorial Hospital in Winterset
Fred Blake of St. Charles died at the Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset Thursday May 7. He had entered the hospital the preceding Friday.
Mr. Blake was 69 years of age at his death. He was a blacksmith by occupation, and had been a resident of Madison county for the last 12 years.
He was a native of Springfield, Ill., where he was born May 30, 1883. He was married at New Virginia on March 18, 1903 to Lottie McQuay, who survives him.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Ona Lyon, Mrs. Avis Ream and Mrs. Alice Crawford; two sons, Frank and Leland Blake; 14 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the New Virginia Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Moore of Truro. Burial was made in the New Virginia cemetery.
