BLANCHE WHITE, Winterset

Blanche Maxine White, 74, of Winterset died April 16, 2006, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with Pastor Scott O’Conner officiating. Visitation will be from 1–8 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 19) with the family present from 6–8 p.m. Burial will be at McDonald Chase Cemetery, Douglas Township, Madison County.

Blanche White was born June 20, 1931, in Madison County to Ross and Verna (Leach) McNichols. Her marriage to Willis “Whitey” White took place Dec. 16, 1946, in Des Moines. Blanche had been the office manager for the Madison County Veterinarian Clinic before her retirement. She was a member of the Winterset Community Church and active in its Home Group.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patty; a brother, Willard McNichols; and two sisters, Lucile McNichols Loomis and Ethel McNichols Armstrong.

She is survived by her husband, Whitey, of Winterset; two daughters, Gayla Hudnell of Perry and Joyce Beeson of Urbandale; one son, Bruce White of Winterset; two brothers, Wilber McNichols of Winterset and Kenneth McNichols of Bondurant; and 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Winterset Community Church.
