Erma Glee Morris McDonald, 86, of Osceola died April 16, 2006, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, April 19) at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. J.R. Wheeler officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
Erma McDonald was born Dec. 13, 1919, to Jesse and Ada Thurman of Barney and attended schools in New Hope Township. On Dec. 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Charles S. Morris. Together, they farmed in Union and Clarke counties for 24 years. Before moving to Osceola in 1963, they resided near Weldon. During her career, Erma worked at Snowdon Sewing factory for 21 years, then was employed as a molder press operator for eight years at Furnas Electric. She also was a seamstress. Following Charles’ death in 1980, she later married Marion W. McDonald on Feb. 9, 1985. Erma was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osceola.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; four brothers, Leonard, Orvie, Everett and Lester; two sisters, twin sister Wilma and Mabel; and three siblings in infancy.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Morris of Commerce City, Colo., and Larry Morris of Northglenn, Colo.; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
