MRS. SARAH BLACK DIES AT 96 YEARS

Had Been Resident of St. Charles for All of Her Life

Mrs. Sarah A. Black of St. Charles died Sunday, Nov. 19, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 96 years of age.

Mrs. Black was born in Madison county and spent all of her life here. She was the former Sarah Ann Souders, born at St. Charles, Aug. 20, 1865. She was a member of the Christian church for 71 years.

She was married Aug. 31, 1885, to James Riley Black. He preceded her in death, as did one son.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Wesley Bumbarger, Ora Black and Garry Black, all of St. Charles, and Beulah Gladys Black of Winterset.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the St. Charles Christian church, in charge of the Rev. James Farrell. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
