Funeral services for Neva Catherine Black, 81, were held Sat., June 29 at St. Charles Parish Church with the Rev. Tom Webster officiating. She died June 27 at her home in St. Charles.
The daughter of Ed and Bessie (Smith) Bender, she was born May 10, 1901 in Wapello County and attended Truro High School. She married George Black in New Virginia October 29, 1932. Mrs. Black was a homemaker, a member of St. Charles Parish, the Women's Society at her church and the Quilter's Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, and a sister.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Foreman and husband, Jack, of Des Moines and three grandchildren.
Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.
