Wayne S. Bishop, 82, of Kansas City, Mo., died from natural causes July 21, 1998, at Life Care Center of Grandview, Grandview, Mo.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 25, at the Antioch Church of the Nazarene in Overland park, Kan.

Burial was at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder, Colo.

Wayne Bishop was born Jan. 30, 1916 in St. Charles. He was a 1934 graduate of Winterset High School. He was a shoe salesman for Woody & Thompson Shoe Store and also sold clothing in the former King Clothing store. In 1940, he graduated from the University of Iowa and married Elsie Albrecht of Iowa City. From 1943-45 he served in the Army as a first lieutenant and pilot, flying cargo aircraft along the China-Burma-India route. He and Elsie lived for many years in Boulder, Colo. Wayne retired in 1985 from Environmental Developers Inc. of Aurora, Colo., after 22 years as a vice president, general manager and sales manager for the condominium development company.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter.

He is survived by one son, Donald Bishop of Overland Park, Kan.; one daughter, Valda Jean Robison, also of Overland Park; and one grandson.

Arrangements were handled by D. W. Newcomer's Sons, Overland park Chapel, Overland Park, Kan.
