Lucille Bingaman, Perry

Lucille S. Bingaman, 89, of Perry, died Jan. 31, 1997 at the Perry Manor. Funeral services were Feb. 4 at the Church of Christ in Yale. Mr. Eugene Lockling officiated the services and burial was at the Greenfield Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 29, 1907 in Wyaconda, Mo., to John Riley and Myrtle (Raine) Sawyer. She graduated from Wyaconda High School in 1924 and attended the school of nursing at St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy, Ill. She married Harry Bingaman on March 30, 1930 in Marcelline, Mo. The couple farmed east of Greenfield until 1959. She had worked as a clerk at Kresge's. She had lived in Earlham and Winterset before moving to the Perry Manor. She was a member of the Earlham Church of Christ and a past member of the Webster and Winterset Methodist Churches.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; two step-sons; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Marilyn Burns and husband Gene of Jamaica, Ia., and Linda Ward and husband Bob of Des Moines; two sisters-in-law, Leathe Bingaman of Greenfield and Stephanie Sawyer of Mt. Sinai, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
