B. G. Harris
January 11, 1906 - February 5, 1979B. G. "Bubbles" Harris, son of John and Alice Black Harris, was born January 11, 1906 in Scranton, Kansas. He passed away at his home in Earlham, Iowa on February 5, 1979 at the age of 73.
He farmed in the Earlham area from 1923 until 1964.
On June 16, 1928 in Waterloo, Iowa, B. G. was united in marriage to Nina Cody. Three children blessed this union, a son, Kenneth Lee of Stuart, Iowa, and two daughters, Bonnie Leeper of Inglewood, California and Marjorie Benson of Schleswig, Iowa.
B. G. joined the Presbyterian Church in 1939 and has served as an elder and trustee.
B. G. is survived by his wife Nina, his three children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, David Harris of Earlham, and a sister, Eula Mae Dolph of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
B. G. will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and a friend to many.
Services were held February 7 at the First Presbyterian Church in Earlham with Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.
