Elizabeth A. Davis
June 25, 1890 - December 14, 1979

Elizabeth Ann Davis, the daughter of Ellis C. and Lela Maybelle Hipsley Bane was born June 25, 1890 in Altoona, Polk County, Iowa. She passed away December 14, 1979 at Villa West Care Center in Winterset, Iowa.

At an early age she and her family moved to this area and she attended the Winterset schools. She had made her home in Earlham since 1926 until failing health required her to enter the nursing home in 1978.

On October 24, 1909 Elizabeth was united in marriage to George W. Davis in the United Presbyterian Church at Winterset. Five children blessed their marriage. George passed away in May of 1972.

Surviving her are two sons, Marion of Des Moines and Carl H. of St. George, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Brooker of Beaumont, California, and Mrs. Lavonna Vaughan of Creston. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, twenty-one step great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and four step great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, two granddaughters, and two brothers.

Most of her adult life was spent with her family and homemaking, and she always enjoyed her membership in the Earlham Friends Church.

Services were held at the Earlham Friends Church, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. Interment was at the Earlham cemetery.
