Vivian Elizabeth Christensen Frederick, daughter of Sam and Annie Christensen, passed away June 17, 1986 at her home in Madison County, Iowa. She was born February 4, 1912 in Audubon County, Iowa.

Vivian attended country school in Audubon, County and married Wilbur Ellston Frederick on January 20, 1940. To this union eight children were born: John, Leanna (Sue), Sharon, Rojean, Keven, Vernette, Mari Jo and Harlan.

Vivian lived in Earlham since 1940 and touched and enriched the lives of everyone she knew. She was a loving, caring person to her family and friends and was always there when needed. Traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren were her favorite pastimes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arnold and Dale, and an infant sister.

She is survived by her husband Wilbur and her children: John S. Frederick of Honolulu, Hawaii, Leanna (Sue) Edmondson of Earlham, Sharon Skinner of Lake Ville, Illinois, Rojean Houston of Norwalk, Keven Frederick of San Diego, California, Vernette Lewis of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mari Jo Frederick of Des Moines, and Harlan Frederick of Bucyrus, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Other survivors include her sisters, Mrs. Homer (Arlene) Rockwell of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. Levi (Lovila) Hansen of Audubon, Iowa; sister-in-law, Mrs. Stanley (Esther) Grimes of Earlham and Mrs. Arnold (Flossie) Christensen of Coon Rapids, Iowa, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, June 20, 1986 in the Early Chapel Church, rural Earlham, Iowa with Reverend Barbara E. Jones officiating. Organ music was provided by Irene Clague. Pallbearers were Bryan Rockwell, Jeff Rockwell, Steve Hansen, Dale Rockwell, Roger Rockwell and Dick Grimes. Honorary pallbearers were John Godby, Jim Kress, Earl Schalkle, Steve Udrovich, Jack Padilla and Les Goeldner. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
