Mary Lucy Biesel of 322 N. Fourth Ave., Winterset died Wednesday, June 25, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 64. She had been a cook at Grace's Victory Cafe.
Born on Jan. 4, 1916, at DeSoto, she was the daughter of Nikolaus and Lena Liplau Biesel. She was a lifelong resident of Winterset and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a brother, Fred Biesel of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Collins Funeral Home, and funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Friday June 27, at St. Paul Lutheran church. Pastor John Hanzalik officiated at the services and burial was at the DeSoto Cemetery.
