Fred C. Biesel, Winterset

Funeral services for Fred C. Biesel, 88, will be held Thurs., March 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Lisa Klein officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 to 9 p.m. Mr. Biesel died of congestive heart failure on March 16 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Madison County on January 10, 1904, the son of Nikolaus and Lena Biesel and moved to Winterset with his sister, Mary, in 1954.

Mr. Biesel owned several rental properties and drove a school bus for the Winterset school system from 1958 to 1969 when he retired. He was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church.

A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Collins Funeral Home is handling arrangements, and burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, southeast of DeSoto. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multi-Purpose Center.
