Henry A. Bierma, Lorimor

Services for Henry A. Bierma, 87, formerly of the Lorimor area, who died June 19 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Sunday, June 22, at Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. Paul Berggren of Crystal Bay, Minn., officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.

Born in Shannon City on Feb. 19, 1899, he was the son of Dowe and Rena Vandermey Bierma. He was married to Gladys V. Youmans on Sept. 15, 1920 in the Methodist parsonage in Winterset.

Mr. Bierma, who was a resident of the Bethesda Care Center, was a retired farmer and a member of the Deer Creek Chapel.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dorothea Berggren and husband Paul of Crystal Bay, Minn.; sons, Ronald and wife Marcia of Denison and Clyde and wife Sherry of Lorimor; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Anne Heggstrom of Lawton, Jo Muilenburg of Sheldon and Evalena Rusk of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and six sisters.
