Bill George Berry, Winterset

Bill George Berry, 52, of Winterset, died May 18, 2002, of complications from surgery at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 21, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Post 184 and V.F.W. Post 8142, both of Winterset.

Bill Berry was born June 5, 1949, in Des Moines to George C. and Ethel Irene (Benge) Berry. He was a 1967 graduate of Winterset High School and a graduate of Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, Mo. On Nov. 22, 1969, he married Sandra Sutherland in Winterset. He had resided in various cities in Iowa, moving back to Winterset in 1994. Bill had been a field engineer for Danka Office Imaging of Des Moines. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of Winterset; his parents, George C. and Ethel of Winterset; a son, Ryan Berry (wife Amy) of Des Moines; and a sister, Nancy Wiemann (husband Mike) of Winterset.
