Death of Mrs. David Faux

Mrs. David Faux and infant daughter, Fanny Bell, died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, Sunday, March 30th. Mrs. Faux had been critically ill since she gave birth to the baby daughter on March 12th. Peritonitis developed and she was taken to the hospital, where she had received treatment. Mrs. Faux, who was 16 years of age, was a daughter of Mrs. Cora Allen, of Winterset.

The Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the funeral services for the mother and baby, at the Tidrick funeral home, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Faux is survived by her husband and her mother and eight brothers and sisters. More details of her life may be found in the mortuary column.

Amy Allen, daughter of Mrs. Cora B. Allen, of Winterset, was born in Madison county, Sept. 16, 1913. Her short life was practically spent in Winterset, where she attended school.

The girl became a member of the Winterset Methodist church in 1925.

Amy was married to David Faux in the summer of 1929 and until her illness lived at the Faux home near Patterson.

On March 12, she gave birth to her infant daughter, Fannie Belle. Both Mrs. Faux and her infant child passed away March 30th; Mrs. Faux at the age of 16 years, 6 months and 14 days; and the baby at 18 days.

Amy was blesses with a loving disposition and was thoughtful of others. She had a special liking for children, this being shown especially in her care and interest in her deaf niece, whom she was able to understand better than others.

Besides her husband, David Faux, she leaves her mother, and brothers and sisters as follows: Mrs. Lillian Macumber of Des Moines, Mrs. Vern Mullen, Mrs. Vada Owens, both of International Falls, Minnesota, Ray and Bernard Allen of Winterset, Kenneth Allen of Cedar Rapids and Sterling and Wilma Fay.
