Willie Berch, Truro

William (Willie) Berch, 79, of Truro, died Aug. 16, 1994 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Aug. 20, 1994 at the Peru United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Woodard and the Rev. Terri Elder officiating. Burial was at the Montpelier Cemetery in Patterson.

He was born Dec. 3, 1914 in Omaha, Neb. to William L. and Grace T. (Feight) Berch. He married Dauryne M. Hindman in Macksburg on Oct. 18, 1946. He was a retired quarry loader operator of Gendler Quarry and had lived in Madison County for 50 years. He was a member of the Peru United Methodist Church and the Patterson Lions Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; and two sisters.

Surviving relatives include his wife; five daughters, Cindy Post of Winterset, Su McKeever of Peru, Cyndi Beardsley of Thayer, Sandy Beard of Mingo, and Lucinda Murphy of Truro; two brothers, Roy Berch of Winterset and John Berch of Truro; two sisters, Delia Collins of Kansas City, Mo., and Donna Missi of DeFunick, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and one-great-grandchild.
