Roy Lincoln Berch, 71, of Peru, died of a respiratory ailment August 27, 1997 at Community Care of Winterset. Funeral services were August 30 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Pastor John Shaull officiated the services and burial followed at the Montpelier Cemetery in Patterson.

He was born in Osceola on February 12, 1926 to William and Grace (Feight) Berch. He was a graduate of Macksburg High School, and on May 21, 1955 he married Martha Mae Peacock in Grant City, MO. He was a farmer and a lifetime resident of Madison County. He was also a member of the National Farmers Organization.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving relatives include his wife, of Winterset; five sons, Bill Berch of Standish, Calif., Steve Berch and wife Tina of Winterset, Bob Berch and wife Linda of Peru, Ted Berch of Ridgedale, Mo., Mike Berch of Winterset; three daughters, Dixie Updike and husband Blake of St. Charles, Ill., Debbie Tibbets and husband Ferlin of Oak Grove, Ark., Deanna Berch of Winterset; one sister, Donabelle Missi of Florida; and 12 grandchildren.
