Dauryne Berch, Winterset

Dauryne Mae Berch, 67, of Winterset, died of cancer on Jan. 3, 1997 at the Winterset Care Center North. Funeral services are today, Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Peru United Methodist Church. Pastor Joan White will officiate the services and burial will be at the Montpelier Cemetery in Madison County.

She was born in Newton on July 28, 1929 to Glen and Bernice (Thomas) Hindman. She married William P. Berch on Oct. 18, 1946 in Madison County. She was a retired nurse and had also operated a cleaning service. She had lived most of her lifetime in Madison County and was a member of the Peru United Methodist Church. She had worked with 25 children through the Madison County Foster Child Care since 1968.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother; her husband; one son, and one brother.

Surviving relatives include three sisters, Phyllis Beard of Mingo, Betty Woodard of Miami, Fla., and Sherry Mann of Gainsville, Fla.; two brothers, Max Hindman of Palmetto, Fla., and Marion Hindman of Brooks, Ga.; and five foster daughters, Sandy Beard of Mingo, Cyndi Beardsley of Thayer, Sue McKeever of Peru, Lucinda Murphy of Truro and Lucinda Post of Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Peru United Methodist Church.
