RAYMOND BENSON DIES IN ILLINOIS

Raymond H. Benson, a native of Winterset, died last Wednesday, Aug. 10, at a hospital in Springfield, Ill. He was 53 years of age.

Mr. Benson's home was in Macon, Ill., where he had worked as a barber for many years.

He was born in Winterset June 10, 1907, a son of Samuel L. and Mary Benson. His early life was spent in this community and he attended Winterset high school. He moved to Illinois as a young man. He was a veteran of World War II.

He leaves four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Steen of Winterset and Mrs. Helen Bedwell, Mrs. Leta Herr, and Mrs. Mabel Wheaton, all of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Springfield, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bedwell of Des Moines drove to Illinois to attend the services.
