Ralph Benson, Jr., Des Moines

Services for Ralph Benson, Jr., will be held Wed., July 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, Des Moines. He died July 7 at the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, where he was a resident for the past four years.

Born in Winterset, he had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired applicator for Perma Stone Company and a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife Geraldine,; five sons, Ralph of Thornton, Colo., and Ron, Rick, Rod and Ray, all of Des Moines; a daughter, Rebecca Walker of Rose Hill; two brothers, Albert of Des Moines and Robert of Winterset; three sisters, Anita Conrad of Urbandale and Mary Lyons and Bonnie Franks, both of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Des Moines.
