Ruth Benson, Winterset

Services for Ruth Benson, 101, Winterset, who died Monday, July 23 at the Winterset Care Center North, were held Thursday, July 26 at the Friends Church in Earlham. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

Mrs. Benson had lived in Earlham for 35 years prior to coming to Winterset. She was born in the Earlham area Dec. 11, 1882, the daughter of William and Susannah Ramsey. On Dec. 11, 1901, she was married to Charles Benson.

She was a birthright member of the Conservative Friends Church in rural Earlham and a member of the Sunshine Circle, also at Earlham. Mrs. Benson spent most of her life as a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Neva Wheeldon of DeSoto; a son, Bill Benson of Schleswig; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
